Chris Hewell
Director of Managed Care Publix Super Markets, Inc.Chris currently serves as the Director of Managed Care with Publix Super Markets. In this role, he develops and directs the strategy for payer contracts, claim analytics, auditing, and retail pharmacy support teams. Chris began his career with Publix in 2000 as a retail pharmacist, before transitioning to the corporate office where he has been responsible for a variety of business areas including Procurement, Clinical Services, Customer Experience and Technology. He has over 16 years of extensive experience navigating the complex pharmacy supply chain where his responsibilities included developing and implementing Publix’s purchasing strategies, managing hundreds of supplier relationships, and ensuring the efficient supply of products necessary for Publix’s operations. Chris is widely recognized as an expert in pharmacy supply chain and procurement strategies, and has been at the forefront of drug supply chain security industry changes.
